Frequently Asked Questions
Insurance Coverage Information & FAQs
We work with a wide range of insurance providers and will bill your insurance when applicable. Please contact our office for a current list of participating plans.
Our office accepts Medicare assignments and participates with many major insurance carriers. To confirm whether we are in-network with your specific plan, please call us at 480-525-8999.
Please bring your insurance card and photo identification to every visit. It’s important to notify us of any changes to your insurance coverage or personal information (such as address changes). Because insurance participation may change, we recommend confirming our network status at the time you schedule your appointment.
While we make every effort to assist with insurance questions, only your insurance company can confirm your benefits and coverage. We cannot guarantee that all services will be covered. You are responsible for any charges not paid by your insurance plan, including copays, deductibles, and services deemed non-covered.
Some bloody drainage is normal after sinus surgery. This should decrease each day after surgery.
Prescriptions are sent electronically to your pharmacy from our office in the majority of cases unless a written prescription is required.
Slight bloody drainage is expected after cauterization.
Clear drainage and sneezing are more commonly seen with allergies, while fever and discolored mucus may point to infection—though an exam is the best way to determine the difference.
Sinus infections are often linked to the common cold, which is contagious. However, not everyone who has a cold gets a sinus infection, of course. The infection itself is not contagious.
It is common to run a low-grade fever after surgery. However, in some cases, fever can be an indication of dehydration, and fluids should be increased. If fever persists or goes above 102º F, you should contact Dr. Gergits.
Dr. Gergits performs surgeries at Trusted Care Surgery Center. He also performs certain procedures in his office.
Some insurance does require a referral. Your insurance card may list when referrals are required or you can call your insurance company to verify if one is needed.
If your insurance requires a copay, you will be responsible for that amount. Insurance plans vary greatly, and you may also be responsible for a co-insurance or deductible. The best thing to do is to check with your insurance company to verify your out-of-pocket expenses.
