Insurance Coverage Information & FAQs

We work with most insurance companies and bill all charges through the patient’s insurance company. Contact our office for our full listing of participating insurances.

Our office participates with most major insurances. We accept Medicare assignments. Please call 480-525-8999 to find out if we participate with your insurance.

Please bring your insurance card with you along with your photo identification. It is very important for you to bring your current insurance card each visit and to inform us if there has been any change in your coverage or in your address. As changes may occur in the plans that we accept, please verify our acceptance at the time you make an appointment.

We will make every effort to verify your coverage prior to your appointment, yet we cannot guarantee coverage of services by your insurance company. To determine your insurance benefits and eligibility please contact your insurance carrier directly. Note that you are ultimately responsible for payment for all services that are not covered by your insurance plan.

Some bloody drainage is normal after sinus surgery. This should decrease each day after surgery.

Prescriptions are sent electronically to your pharmacy from our office in the majority of cases unless a written prescription is required.

Slight bloody drainage is expected after cauterization.

Fever and green nasal drainage are usually indicative of an infection. Clear drainage and sneezing usually indicate allergies.

Sinus infections are often linked to the common cold, which is contagious. However, not everyone who has a cold gets a sinus infection, of course. The infection itself is not contagious.

It is common to run a low-grade fever after surgery. However, in some cases, fever can be an indication of dehydration, and fluids should be increased. If fever persists or goes above 102º F, you should contact Dr. Gergits.

Some insurance does require a referral. Your insurance card may list when referrals are required or you can call your insurance company to verify if one is needed.

If your insurance requires a copay, you will be responsible for that amount. Insurance plans vary greatly, and you may also be responsible for a co-insurance or deductible. The best thing to do is to check with your insurance company to verify your out-of-pocket expenses.
